Liichtmessdag is a long-standing Luxembourgish tradition celebrated every year on the 2nd of February. On this day, children take handmade lanterns and in, in groups, go from house to house in their neighbourhoods in the late afternoon or early evening. At each door they then sing a traditional song (Léiwer Härgottsblieschen) and in return, receive sweets or small gifts.
So be ready to hand out some candy.
